Chapter 3 Preparing Samples

CAUTION
Do not leave the sample plate in detergent for longer
than 10 minutes. Longer exposure can cause the
bottom holders on the sample plate to corrode. Do not
sonicate sample plates or use acid to clean sample
plates. Both can alter the surface of the sample plate,
and reduce the quality of the data obtained.
5. If residue remains, wipe the plate with a lint-free tissue or
cotton swab. A soft toothbrush works well.
6. Rinse the plate thoroughly in deionized water.
7. To speed drying, rinse the plate in acetone.
8. Allow the plate to dry in an area where it will not be
exposed to contaminants.
